Automaton Clock in the Form of a Steam Engine

Desription

Tri-tone bronze and rouge marble case in the form of a steam pump engine with piston in the center driven by the large flywheel and governor assembly at the top with pierced baluster gallery having acorn finials, pierced corbels, four round columns and square marble columns. The body of the case has an incised brick design with silvered dial aneroid barometer on the left, and clock on the right, dial signed, J.E. Caldwell & Co., Philadelphia with thermometers in between. The brass eight-day spring driven movement strikes on a coiled gong.
