Automaton Weather Station and Music Box in the Form of a Wind-Driven Pump House

Desription
A very rare French gilt and patinated bronze and marble clockwork automaton. Designed as a rotating four cone anemometer (a device for measuring wind speed), mounted on a stonework pump house with a pair of glazed arched windows to view the motion of the pump, fitted with a Reaumur / Fahrenheit thermometer and aneroid barometer in the base. The top contains a clock, movement numbered 741. A separately wound automaton mechanism drives both the anemometer and pump. A separately activated small cylinder musical mechanism is located on the interior of the right wall of the housing.
