Tiffany Studios

1897

Desription

Tiffany Studios also produced objects in copper and bronze collectively called “Fancy Goods.” Tiffany added a foundry to his glass furnace in 1897 and began manufacturing these small metalwork objects. His workshops turned out various patterns in more than thirty utilitarian forms, including candelabras, desk sets, picture frames, and so forth. Tiffany’s metalwork designs were inspired by nature and often incorporated glass elements. Made in multiples, they were affordable to a much greater market than his one-of-a-kind art objects.
