Dai-dokei (Pedestal Clock) on Rosewood Pedestal with Foliot

Japanese pedestal clock (“Dai-dokei”) is in a carved rosewood case with silk sound frets atop a graceful rosewood pedestal. Displaying the Japanese system of temporal hours, with an alarm disc at the center. Bronze dial surround has foliate engraving. The foliot is visible above the dial, for ease of adjustment. The two lead weights are rope-wound.
