Desk Clock for King Fuad I of Egypt

An elegant small desk clock with gilt platform jeweled escapement and bi-metallic balance with its original leather carrying case. Breguet has verified that this clock was purchased by King Fuad of Egypt (1868-1936) and delivered to the King December 10, 1925. The dial is signed, Breguet No. 1007. The bottom of the dial is framed by a crescent of enameled sawtooth motifs, alternating between green and blue. The arch-form silver case contains a decorative cast pattern that frames the clock with King Fuad’s crown symbol in relief at the bottom of the case. The piece is accompanied by the original fitted leather Breguet box bearing the crown of King Fuad. The piece was one of a dozen pieces sold to him in 1925, and the cost for this timepiece was 3688 French Francs.
