Waltham Watch Company expanded their watch manufacturing to include the production of chronometers in the 20th century. As one of the first and best American watch manufacturers, Waltham virtually invented modern manufacturing. Waltham was open to innovation and was ready to adapt to new technology and markets. Waltham was able to easily re-tool to supply chronometers during war time, and eventually made timepieces for aircraft as well.
