Desription
The circular movement has brass plates and iron wheel trains. The drum case has an engraved edge and a band decorated with animal-inhabited foliate scrolls. A finely cast gilt-brass figure holds a radiating sun mask at the center, calibrated on one side from 1-24 and on the other 2 x 1-12. The dial is controlled by a concealed rod, raised and lowered by the movement, causing the hours disc to advance. The position of the dial is secured by a ratchet.
