Mantel Clock with Globe and Calendar on Marble Base

Desription

This fine Consulate period (1799–1804) mantel clock stands on a stately green marble base. The ormolu case features two mirror-image sphinxes below the bezel and heraldic decoration of quivers and arrows in the top corners. The enamel chapter ring, containing time and calendar functions, is signed, Breguet a Paris. Atop the clock is a handsome blue revolving globe.
