Miniature Dachluhr Vienna Regulator

Lechner in Wein

Vienna, circa 1835

Desription

An unusual miniature ebonized Dachluhr. The dachluhr case is a simplified version of the more complex laterndhlur, with straighter and simpler lines. The tiny case has a pedimented roof with
boxwood stringing and a shaped front door reminiscent of a laterndluhr. “Three-light” construction (three panes of glass).

The small eight-day weight driven movement is suspended from the backboard via a brass mounting block with keyhole mountings. It employs a Graham deadbeat escapement and has a silk suspended
steel rod pendulum with a small brass bob.
