Organ Mantel Clock

Droz, Pierre-Jaquet

Geneva, Switzerland, circa 1780

Desription

An excellent example of an 18th century Swiss organ mantel clock, collected by the Chinese Imperial Court, with a painted iron surround depicting a galleon near a harbor with fortified entrance. Bell striking movement. Music plays one of six tunes every hour on the eighteen-pipe organ by means of a pinned wood barrel.
