The exquisite ormolu case is surmounted by an urn with ribbons, swags and a female mask above XII. The case is stamped on its lower edge, Osmond. The enamel dial is signed, Charles Le Roy a Paris. The clock strikes the hours on a bell, an unusual feature in French cartel clocks.
