Mahogany case with stenciled half columns and stenciled crest depicting an American eagle and cannons, reflecting the intense patriotism of the era. Elegantly outlined oval aperture for the pendulum. Label on inside backboard reads, Patent Clocks invented by Eli Terry, made and in sold in Plymouth Connecticut by E. Terry & Sons. Wooden works thirty-hour movement with countwheel striking. Five wheels per train, a post 1823 patent by Eli Terry, Sr.
