Dietrich sat in his car as he sketched this toy store window display. According to the artist, he was trying to make a subtle anti-weapon statement by placing the dark ominous guns among the other more colorful toys. Dietrich depicted several storefronts on College Avenue in Appleton, Wisconsin, during his career. The work of Regionalist artists addressed social, economic, and political issues.
