Desription

An early form of lever escapement, designed by George Savage of Huddersfield, Yorkshire which reduced friction – used in carriage clocks and watches. The adjustable model two-pin lever escapement is on a shaped gilt platform mounted above an indirectly wound mainspring barrel with fusee and chain, large four-arm balance with polished rim, flat blued spring, staff with polished two-pin roller engaging right angle lever with adjustable depthing, amplitude scale, adjustable banking pins, pointed tooth escape wheel. Model is signed, Carter Bowles Scientific Instruments Cheltenham.
