Year Duration Laterndluhr with Skeletonized Glass Dial
Clockmaker: Lehrner in Kaschau
Vienna, circa 1820
Desription
A unique and exceptional year-duration Viennese Laterndluhr wall clock. The case is of exceedingly slim proportions. The main driving weight of the clock runs behind the backboard, a unique feature.
The year-duration movement is most unusual. The entire movement is visible through the clear glass dial with the numerals and signature painted on it, and all the wheels are mounted on skeletonized bridges. A small weight runs from this part of the mechanism in front of the pendulum and acts as a winding indicator.
